Don’t over-eat before climbing, it will slow you down. While you’re in mid climb it is good to restock your salt reserves so eating something with real salt is good. Himalayan Crystal salt recommended. Drink lots of fluids to stay hydrated and alert.

One climber’s diet


2 eggs cooked in a little coconut oil

4oz salmon or turkey sausage

1 cup veggies (broccoli, greens, peppers)

¼ avocado

Small piece of fruit

Lots of water

4g L-glutamine (it helps sugar cravings, recovers and gut health)


When he/she gets hungry for a snack they like to eat 1oz pemmican or about 2oz jerky and a handful of berries


He/she eats a big salad and they bring spinach, kale, cabbage, cucumbers, squash or Zucchini, sliced turkey or ham, lemon juice and avocado


Banana berry nut paleo muffin made of coconut oil, almond flour, and tapioca flour with lots of fruits and nuts mixed in.
